Each year the REC Foundation creates a new game challenge for the Aerial Drone Competition with elements needed to play. These are the game elements kit needed specifically for the 2024-2025 Aerial Drone Competition season. The challenge itself was announced by REC in September 2024, and you can learn more about this season's Mission 2025: Gravity challenge on their site. PLEASE NOTE: To build a complete field for this year's challenge, you will also need to get the Field Elements kit, which contains field elements that are used every year. You can use a Field Elements kit from previous years to build a complete field.

  • $1,000.00

This is the official Aerial Drone Competition field elements kit. It includes a collection of arches, keyhole gates, landing pads, cubes, and a blackout curtain, reusable every year in the Aerial Drone Competition. Our CoDrone EDU can be used to participate in the competition—it's one of the only drones approved for the competition. This field can also be used for your programs classes, afterschool programs, clubs, and summer camps with your own custom challenges, outside of the competition.  This is the game field kit you'll need to practice for the Mission 2025: Gravity challenge, which is the 2024-2025 season challenge. This kit only includes the field elements used every year. PLEASE NOTE: To build a complete field for this year's challenge, you will also need to get the Game Elements kit, which contains elements specific to this year's challenge. For the Gravity challenge, if you want to practice, you only need one set of a Field Elements Kit + Game Elements Kit. If you want to host, you will need at least two sets. The entire package weighs around 50 lbs (~23 kg).

This package gives you all the supplies and the curriculum you need for 30 students and 1 instructor in the Build Smart EV Micro-Kart Course. The classroom package includes 30 EV Micro-Kart Kits, 30 micro:bit v2s, one EV Micro-Kart Course Supplies Pack, and one instructor license for the EV Micro-Kart Course curriculum The EV Micro-Kart Course is made for high school students to learn mechanical engineering, coding and circuits. Students experience the Engineering Design Process as they design and 3D-print their own kart chassis and toppers. (Students also have the option to construct their chassis out of thin cardboard if a 3D printer is not available). Students will outfit their karts with headlights, taillights, and a variable-speed motor, using a breadboard to create circuits and using a micro:bit to code and control the actions of these systems. Finally, students use the micro:bit to analyze the performance of their karts via data collection and visualization. Along the way, students consider the important factors involved in constructing an EV kart and preparing for a big race, exploring subjects like:

    • 3D modeling
    • Engineering tolerances
    • Power transmission and consumption
    • Braking and steering systems
    • Pulley ratios
