The Build Smart curriculum takes STEM learning to a new level by integrating specific industry-related skills, career connections, social relevance, and hands-on learning. Students will also be incorporating technology skills such as coding, sensor technology, and microcontrollers. The Build Smart curriculum provides career and technical education (CTE) to middle and high school students, particularly in the following pathways:
- Information technology
- Science, technology, engineering, and math
- Manufacturing
- Logistics
- Construction
Each of the Build Smart Curricula integrates concepts and skills from across the content areas and incorporates social-emotional learning competencies from the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL™) framework. Additionally, we carefully grounded our lessons in the four domains of the Teaching Tolerance Social Justice Standards™: identity, diversity, justice, and action.

Build Smart Clubhouse Curriculum
The Build Smart Clubhouse is a middle school curriculum that gets students designing and building their own automated clubhouses. They learn the fundamentals of construction and architecture as they build their structures using industry standards. Next, students incorporate computer science skills as they code a micro:bit and sensor technology to automate their clubhouses with a thermostat, fan, lighting, and doorbell.

Build Smart EV Micro-Kart Short Course Curriculum
The Build Smart EV Micro-Kart Short Course curriculum puts your students in the driver’s seat as they build and code their own electric go-karts. The curriculum walks you through each step so you can enjoy the experience alongside your students. It teaches students about the Engineering Design Process through hands-on, project-based learning.

Build Smart EV Micro-Kart Course Curriculum
The Build Smart EV Micro-Kart Course curriculum is made for high school students to learn mechanical engineering, coding and circuits. It gives students the full experience of building and coding their own electric go-karts. The curriculum is built around the EV Micro-Kart Kit.
Using the 5E lesson plan format (Engage, Explore, Explain, Engineer, Evaluate), students work through a series of activities that leads them to the creation of a fully functioning electric kart. The course implements standards from ISTE, NGSS, CCSS, STEL, and CSTA.
