STEM Education Works Expands STEM Learning Opportunities with Ozobot
April 7, 2025Oxford, AL – November 2024
Hundreds gathered in Oxford, Alabama, to celebrate the official ribbon-cutting of the CREATE Innovation and Technological Center, a groundbreaking regional workforce development and technology center. With more than 400 attendees, the event underscored the power of collaboration and a shared vision for the future of STEM education and workforce readiness.
Investing in the Future
We’re honored to stand alongside Oxford City Schools and CREATE in this transformative initiative. The new center is more than a facility. It’s a testament to what can be achieved when communities invest in the education and training of their future workforce
Through CREATE, 300 Oxford High School students are already engaging in hands-on learning across engineering, green power, computer science, modern manufacturing, and robotics. Additionally, thanks to a grant from the Alabama Construction Industry Craft Training Board, 120 adults are gaining skills in commercial construction trades through evening courses in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and welding.
Setting Goals
Looking ahead, CREATE is set to expand its impact. According to CREATE’s social media accounts, the center will extend opportunities to students across 16 high schools in Calhoun, Cleburne, Clay, St. Clair, and Talladega counties, adding programs in cybersecurity, industrial maintenance, and criminal justice/public safety. Their goal is to add aviation and logistics training in 2026, further broadening the career pathways available to students and adult learners alike.

Furthering the Mission
STEM Education Works is proud to support CREATE in these efforts. Our mission has always been to provide accessible and meaningful STEM education, and this collaboration allows us to continue that mission in a way that directly benefits students and the workforce of East Alabama.
“We’re excited to be a part of this,” said Kim Kallok, director of STEM Education Works. “Oxford City Schools and CREATE have done something incredible here, and we’re grateful to support their vision. Seeing students get real, hands-on experience in fields that will define the future is exactly what STEM education should be about.”
Continued Support
As CREATE moves forward, STEM Education Works remains committed to supporting its growth and success. This is just the beginning of an ongoing journey that will empower students, strengthen industries, and contribute to a brighter future for East Alabama.
We extend our gratitude to all those who played a role in bringing the CREATE Innovation and Technological Center to life. Together, we are not just opening doors. We’re building pathways to innovation, opportunity, and long-term success!
