Creating K-12 STEM Pathways Programs throughout Beaumont Independent School District

From STEM Activities to a District-Wide Vision

Beaumont Independent School District set out to build more than isolated STEM activities. The district created a connected K-12 pathway where students begin exploring STEM in elementary school and continue building engineering and computer science skills through high school. Partnering with STEM Education Works, Beaumont ISD implemented a hands-on curriculum, Build Smart EV Micro-Karts, Dobot robotic arms, and professional development to support educators across all grade levels. "My goal is to bring it into full immersion," said STEM Coordinator LaChandra Cobb-Eaglin.

STEM Education Works provided Beaumont ISD with a complete solution that combined curriculum, technology, classroom materials, and teacher training. "It was an inclusive package," Cobb-Eaglin said. "The more inclusive something is, the more time students spend learning." Today, the district continues to expand STEM through authentic engineering experiences, industry-relevant technology, and one of the largest Family STEM Night events in Texas, welcoming more than 5,000 students, families, educators, and community partners each year.
