Creating Consistent STEM Education

Fort Wayne Community Schools wanted a more consistent STEM experience across its schools and earlier exposure to engineering, computer science, and technology. Through its partnership with STEM Education Works, FWCS expanded STEM labs across its elementary and middle schools. Students now get more hands-on experience with robotics, 3D printing, drones, coding, and engineering. STEM Education Works curriculum also complements the district’s existing programming with ready-to-use resources.

The partnership extends beyond equipment and curriculum. Professional development, implementation guidance, and ongoing support help teachers build confidence with STEM technology. Students in established programs are strengthening collaboration and problem-solving skills, while earlier STEM experiences help prepare them to make informed choices about high school STEM pathways.
