About the Program

Project Pathfinder is a summer camp dedicated to ensuring that learning doesn’t pause just because it’s summer. The camp instructor, Marcel McKenzie, who was used to making an impact through music education, is proving that with the right tools, you don’t need to be a STEM expert to implement meaningful STEM lessons.

Range of Ages, New to STEM

Project Pathfinder Summer Camp wanted to bring hands-on STEM learning to students in grades 1 through 8, but it lacked dedicated STEM instructors to lead robotics activities. They needed technology they could learn quickly and teach with confidence. STEM Education Works provided an approachable solution that empowered the educator to teach STEM, without prior experience.

Our Partnership & Approach

STEM Education Works equipped Central Alabama Marines-Council with Sphero BOLT+ robots, STEM Quest Activity Cards, and the support they needed to confidently teach students across multiple grade levels. The result was a flexible STEM program that fit the camp's goals and empowered every instructor, regardless of technical experience.
